The Boathouse- Artistic License and the Missing Pool
This view from the back of a stately home on the Long Island Gold Coast is my second portrait for this client. It’s a great example of what you can do using artistic license to change the landscape in important ways.
You can see the changes we made from the photo below. My client didn’t want the clutter of the pool and outdoor furniture to detract from the boathouse and the seascape behind it. We were able to edit these out and move other elements to direct the focus and reveal hidden features.
The painting below, a view of the front of the house, was our first project, completed in 2013.
